Who makes rectangular grommets for ribbon cable?
I have a ribbon cable passing through a rectangular .5″ X 1.5″ cuttout in sheet metal. I want a quick-to-install plastic grommet to snap into the hole to protect the cable from the metal edges. There are companies that make grommets (like Heyco or Fastex) but they are always round, not rectangular. Does anybody know of a supplier that makes rectangular snap-in grommets?
You can check in digikey, they have a TON of stuff for grommiting.
If you cant find a grommit, you might be able to do well with the right-variant of o-ring. If the perimeter is correct, and the o-ring is built with a seam, it could easily be placed over the edge, then glued.
You could also check out grainger, mcmaster-carr, or home depot.
